She's going to kill me for this!

This is my Kaylah almost 10 years ago

This week she is star of the week in her class! So all this week she has to send in pictures, 3 special items, her favorite book and song that she gets to play for the class on the CD player, I get to go and eat lunch with her and I have to send in a letter from us that the teacher reads to Kaylah and the class. Initially I was going to try not to write anything too "mushy" but this is what I needed to say to her

Dear Kaylah,

Our sweet first born daughter..... On October 24th 2001 at 1:37 pm you were born weighing in at almost 10 pounds. You amazed us from the second you were born and our world changed forever. Daddy and I cant believe that we will soon be celebrating your 10th birthday!! Thats double digits Kaylah!!! Where has my baby gone? I know you are probably sick of hearing us say" Please load the dishwasher Kaylah"...or "Kaylah you need to do your homework". I know that we irritate you some days and you think we are nerdy and lately you would much rather be with your friends than with us. But we love you just the same and there are a few things we want you to know......

Dream Big.....As big as you can!!! Because you will become what you dream. You can do anything you put your mind to.....You have proved this to us before.

What you put out in life always comes back to you....So be a good person!  There will be people in your life that wont like you because of how you dress or the way you look or what you believe in. But know you are better than that....and see the good in them anyway. Always treat others the way you would like to be treated.

You are beautiful inside and out......Know this!

We could not be prouder of the person you are growing up to be.  You are a great friend and an amazing big sister, and an even better daughter.  And you try so hard at everything you do whether it be school, sports or helping me out at home.So Thank You for being YOU!!

Lots of Love

Dad, Mom, Alivia, Emma and Sadie too :0)

best $200 I ever spent ~ high heels ~veggies

There that title about sums it up :0)

This water slide we bought at BJ's 3 years ago and they love it!

So we broke it out this weekend

Emma had a blast playing in the pool part and trying to climb up the slide and sliding down

And Alivia did go down a few times but is still scared for the most part but still likes to play in the pool

Then Kaylah had some friends come try it out too...And it was a hit :0)

This little lady broke into my closet and came out to me like this

She is getting some practice at a young age....

I was cracking up watching her walking around in these....

Also this weekend we started a garden with our awesome neighbors

We have tried one on our own in the past but was not successful to say the least

So they approached us with the idea that we would split the cost and take turns watering and weeding. The kids are sooo exited to be part of this and so are we.
 .

So in about 2 months we should have corn, tomatoes, cucs, squash, zucchini, green beans, broccoli and watermelons! How awesome is that?

updates on the ladies

Kaylah Leanne

Today you are 9 years old and 7 months
  • I cant believe you are almost 10....thats double digits!!!! Yikes
  • These days you would much rather be hanging out with your friends...which I know is normal for a 3rd grader...but we really miss the days when you were attached to us.
  • You love playing soccer and softball...... well I am not sure you love to play but you love the social aspects of sports.
  • You are a great big sister and they love you to pieces. Emma gets so excited when the bus pulls up
  • Next week you are Star of the Week in school, and I have to write you a letter! I have so much to say but dont want to embarrass you with a mushy letter from your mom! I am excited I get to eat lunch with you at school next week ......just me and you....which doesn't happen as much as it should.

Alivia Mae

Today you are 4 years old and almost 10 months

Wow you are almost 5!

  • Sweet Alivia you are so in love with school and get so excited for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (school days)
  • You love your friends and look forward to seeing them at school and are always asking for them to sleep over......maybe in a few years! You want to be just like your big sis
  • Last week you scared Daddy and I with a fever of 106.4!!!! We brought you to the ER and discovered a few days later you had strep......please dont do that again ;0)
  • You love to sing a dance and play doll house.
  • Your teacher told me the other day that you are always helping the other kids in your class when they are sad or having a bad day....She made me tear up, because I am so proud of you! She then went on to ask if you are always this sweet???? What a great thing for a mom to hear!

Emma Kate

Today you are 19months (and 1 day)
  • Each day you are talking and understanding more.
  • You are a wild women and never sit still, so it makes for a very tired mom....but you sleep great and still nap 2-3 hours every day, so I guess that makes up for it. But even if you didnt I would love you just the same :0)
  • We just started to cut out dairy because I think you are having an issue with it. You seem to like the Almond Milk...but its hard to find things you like that dont have dairy in it!
  • You wave to everyone and say "hi" to them until they say it back...and even then you keep saying it...ha
  • You love to push your baby around in the stroller, feed her, change her diaper and you even put diaper cream on her the other day...:0) I now have to hide the diaper cream from you.
  • At night you now sing along with me to you are my sunshine and it melts my heart!
  • You are about 30 pounds and wearing a 3T and in a size 5 diaper...Where did my "little" 9lb 3oz baby go??

Life Lesson's

The other day I opened some "junk mail" from O magazine. Well inside Oprah talked about things in life that she knows for sure. I read them and was thankful I did.

1. What you put out comes back all the time no matter what. This is sooo true and I see that everyday and try to live by that
2. You define your own life. Dont let others write your script.
3. Whatever someone did to you in the past has no power over the present.Only you give it power.   And it doesn't :0)
4. When someone shows you who they are believe them the first time.  I can thank my Dad for proving this to be true. This was clear in childhood.
5. Worrying is wasted time. Use the same energy for doing something about whatever worries you.  This is one that I really need to work on more...I can get so caught up in worries that lead to no where. And in the end were a complete waste of my time.
6. What you believe has more power than what you dream, wish, or hope for. You become what you believe.  I believe in a lot these days!
7.If the only prayer you ever say is "thank you" that will be enough. :0)
8. The happiness you feel is in direct proportion to the love you give.  If this is in fact true that explains a lot about people. I am finding that there are a lot of unhappy people out there.
9. Failure is a signpost to turn you in another direction.  Its funny how we all get caught up in failure...but that turn in the road that lead you to another direction is where you are supposed to be.
10. If you make a choice that goes against what everyone else thinks, the world WILL NOT fall apart.

Now if only everyone followed these lessons :0)

Just some things........

This weekend I found these at Wal-Mart for $8 and thought it would be fun to try them on the big girls.

And they came out awesome...They were a little tricky and they have a VERY strong nail polish scent!

But they came out cute and it says they last for up to 10 days. They have a ton of different designs and colors and they already want to try them all.

In other news ...It seems as though Emma has found a new Best friend.

He's really fun .....

and he loves her to pieces

And she is lucky to have him!

This makes me so happy xoxoxo

Now for some big news...Emma used the potty tonight. Adam asked her and she said yes and went! She has been telling us when she pee's in her diaper so maybe this is a sign that she is starting to be ready to potty train. Iam not pushing the issue just yet though.

Anniversary Dinner and Mothers Day!

Our weekend started out not so great.....Thursday Emma girl came down with a nasty stomach bug and did alot of this :0( You know she isn't feeling to hot when a little girl that normally needs a dark quiet room with her sound machine on to fall asleep.....falls asleep in the bright living room with Alivia playing and the T.V on!

We were going to celebrate our anniversary on Friday but decided to wait to see if Emma would get better and go on Saturday. And she was 100% better by then :0)

This is the sweet card that the girls made for us for our Anniversary...... So sweet !

Adam and I forgot to have someone take our picture before we left for Boston...so the nice lady at Mikes Pastry's offered :0) For dinner we went to Lucia's...It was OK not great!  We both got Chicken Parmigiana ...because Adam likes to copy me ! Haaa JK Adam!We still really love Fiore's and want to try Giacomo's  next time....there is always a line formed out the door there...so you know it must be good!

After dinner we went to Mikes Pastry's and loaded up on yummy cannolis, lobster tails and carrot cake! They seriously have the BEST cannolis! When we were walking around the North End  we thought about how much the kids would love to come here.....So next time we are thinking Pizzeria Regina and Mikes with the kids.  Then I got to thinking ....... Its crazy how you look forward to a night out away from the kids....but you always end up missing them and talking about them! I couldn't wait to pick them up!

Mothers Day was very laid back. Adam let me sleep in, then we went and visited our Moms. We came home and played in the yard. That was our day in a nutshell :0) It was nice to just hang out!

Here is my mothers day plant that I am determined not kill this summer.

On Mothers Day I also finally managed to hang this in between the girls bedrooms....finally! I had that picture put on a canvas to remind them that they really will be best friends forever....Of course all 3 will be best friends but Kaylah and Alivia just cant seem to get along lately. I hope that changes soon!

Happy Mothers Day

Before I was a Mom…
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom…

I slept as late as I wanted.
And never worried about how late I got
into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth every day.

Before I was a Mom…

I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words
to lullabies.

Before I was a Mom…

I didn’t worry whether or not my plants

were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was Mom…

I had never been puked on,

Pooped on,
Spat on,
Chewed on,
Peed on,
Or pinched by tiny fingers.

Before I was a Mom…

I had complete control of my mind,
My thoughts.
My body,
And my time.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom…

I never held down a screaming child,
So that doctors could do tests,
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and
cried.
I never got gloriously happy over
a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours
at  night
 Watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom…

I never held a sleeping baby just because.
I didn’t want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million
pieces.
When I couldn’t stop the hurt.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom

Before I was a Mom…

I didn’t know the feeling of having my

heart outside my body.
I didn’t know how special it could feel to
 feed a hungry baby.
I didn’t know that bond between a mother
and her child.
I didn’t know that something so small
Could make me feel so important

Before I was a Mom…

I had never risen in the middle of the night .

Every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
The joy,
The love,
The heartache,
The wonderment,
Or the satisfaction of being a
Mom.
I didn’t know I was capable
of  feeling so
Much before I was a Mom!
